venue guidelines

   RULE ONE.
Seafront Village Library prides itself in being an exclusively Safe for Work venue. We're not in the market for such activities and will not permit it during working or off hours. We do stock erotica to take home with you, this doesn't mean you need to act it out while visiting us. In extension, all "swimsuit areas" must be covered at all times while visiting Seafront Village Library. This does include after-hours as well, Grimore Rubrum and Grimore Weiss keeps an eye out for such activities while Popola is away.
   RULE TWO.
We're big on helping others out where possible as it's one of our founding ideals, though we do ask you keep Duty Finder/Roulette Queueing to a minimum along with teleporting out of the premise. Due to the tight knit nature of the Library we'd also like to ask that all minions (with the exception of service/support pets) are put away while staying at Seafront Village Library. Popola is the exception as sole owner and caretaker of the library.

   RULE THREE.
Though we heavily encourage communication and conversation with those around us we understand not everyone is as talkative and prefer to be left alone. If this is the case for you, feel free to let Popola know and she'll leave you be into whatever you'd like to do! You're welcome to work on other projects as you'd like as Seafront Village Library is a space for those with a nose down for their Sharlayan or Ishgardian finals or those who'd rather hear others' tales over sharing theirs.
   RULE FOUR.
Though not necessarily a rule per se, we do ask any sort of bigotry in real life or in-game stays outside of our walls and you choose a different place to spend your time. We try to harbor an open arms/open door policy to all no matter what walks of life they come from. Any note of harassment or bigotry found while you're in our library will be grounds for immediate leave of the premise and a ban/blacklist from ours and sponsored venues.

our mission

Once upon a time... born out of seemingly nowhere, Seafront Village Library was founded by Popola and her late sister Devola as a way to give back to the community that helped the two of them out for as long as they knew. Slowly fixing up the interior, Popola chose to reside solely inside as it's caretaker and head librarian and began adding some of her own novels to the collection for the rest of the town to see. Though, her sole mission began: build the most welcoming and sanctuary-like library that'll take in anyone, regardless of who they are.Seafront Village Library prides itself on being pretty well-versed in its collections and our curator Popola is knowledgeable in most subjects that she stores on her shelves. While she travels from Star to Star looking for the best for the locals of Seafront, we also do it in order to bring the best to you as a patron. We harbor an open-door policy even when Popola has stepped out so that anyone can come in and decompress or do their work in an undisturbed location. In collaboration with venues, Seafront Village Libary provides several services for the community in order to reach more people in the pursuit of knowledge.

In turn, Seafront Village Library is an open opportunity work front for those needing aid in their lives. Popola and Devola were single-handedly being raised in the outlying village of Beakwood Point and understood the "It takes a village." rhetoric and applied it to the Library itself. Those looking for support or a shoulder to lean on, look no further that our humble library in hopes you'll find solace here as well.To make a longwinded statement short, Seafront Village Library is a library first and foremost take our patrons under our wing as if you were one of Popola's own. Where our library is always just the right enough warm to keep you comfortable, our acts of service keep you entertained and well-fed by local vendors and partners. A place where you can rest no matter the hour or day, no matter who you are or what brought you here. You have a home at Seafront Village Library, so don't be afraid to come by and make yourself comfortable. If you'd like to join our mission either as Staff or as a Partner please let Popola know and let's get you on board!Optional NieR Centric Venue BGM Available on Cytube here or on Spotify here for your listening pleasure.

services available

  BARD FOR HIRE.
Sponsored by: Lunar Tear Bards
A very close group to Popola as she's one of two bards within Lunar Tear Bard's company. Sponsoring and helping financially supporting the library since Devola's passing, Popola now offers herself for work outside of the library.     Though, you'll be able to get a taste of what you could hire every few nights when Popola picks up her lute on slow evenings. As much as she may appreciate tips as anyone else would, she's more keen to playing here as a hobby, though she will still take them for general repairs/collection additions.

SHADE AND GESTALT HUNTS.An optional service to keep the Eorzean realm free from shadow-like beasts now seeping into the Source through the Crystal Tower, Popola seeks out adventurers and sellswords looking to make their mark. Those who can prove their service in eradicating the recent sights of the Shades through various locations around Eorzea will be paid very handsomely for their efforts. (RP gil/items only.)However, those looking for a big game thrill, Popola keeps records on the big monsters—Gestalts—for a higher steep than the Shades. Only one creeps up across the Stars every month, and Popola will ask for proof, but if you're up to the task, do inquire.

CRAFTING AND GATHERING. Sponsored by Copied Iris Cafe+Lounge.Looking at having some work done? Thanks to our partnership with Copied Iris Cafe+Lounge, we have an Omnicrafter on deck for all your housing needs! Naja, the owner of Copied Iris is always open to making whatever you'd need.Though, pay is very much needed, Naja gives Gil estimates based on what's needed to be made instead of a flat rate. After all, why should she charge the same for a level 25 craft versus a level 100 craft? Inquire with Popola if interested and we can put you in touch with our lovely Naja!

**▍ THIS MONTHS GESTALT HUNT (August)
Once statues meant to guard the halls of the Vault, Hansel & Gretel took to life after a rogue knight brought them to life so that he could do less work. Unfourtnately, now they have chosen to revolt against their maker and have begun attacking members of the High Houses against their initial passive programming. Please bring Popola a shard of Hansel's eyes as completion. (Oddly Specific Uncut Gemstone.)
   RUBRUM'S WISHES. (Syncshell)
Once a Grimoire of note in another of Popola's colleague's collections, now a quietly hidden ally to those seeking more information. Unlike the other two Grimoires in her set, she's unable to communicate naturally with the owner. However, Popola and her have seemed to come to a small understanding and have agreed to help others who come into the library to fully understand sights that they may not have known before.
Access to our SFW Only Syncshell. Any use of NSFW Mods/Attire will have you kicked & blocked from the Syncshell. Compression is not optional but mandatory, please be under 750mb before joining.

   SWORD STORIES AND SPARROW SONGS.
Cost: Free, though tips are welcome. Book trades/donations are accepted as well.
Brought to you by Popola's tales from Eorzea and beyond, Sword Stories is a service akin to the Blind Date With a Book trend. Tied to the Weapon Story questlines in both NieR: Gestalt/Replicant and Drakengard. Any blind book will give you the chance to read the said stories when prompted for a little extra lore to be gathered about Popola's origin lands and those whom she kept dear. Though special Stories tied to her old friends can be accessed by inquiring about her Sparrow Songs.Stories may have 18+ pieces of content tied around them, though will be filtered out once asked in order to keep with a general PG-13 rating. Sword Stories covers WEAPON stories from the world of NieR/Drakengard. Sparrow Songs covers the history of the PEOPLE within them that Popola holds close from NieR specifically.Sword Stories (Collection Incomplete)
-Skald's Song (A blade forged from the hand of of twin swordsmith sisters, looking to make their mark.)
-Fool's Accord (A lance formed after a meeting with a great red dragon of old, giving unbridled strength to the wielder for the cost of their voice.)
-Virtuous Contract / Cruel Oath (A twin set of oriental swords given to a set of androids in the near future, riddled in betrayal and war.)
-Grief Eater (A blade gripped by a woman torn from grief, it becoming her only companion.)
-Deus Ex Machina (A battle worn healer who wishes to see herself as human in a realm where it doesn't exist.)
-Ivory Blade (A sword hailed by a Virtual Songstress from a far off city, who's world torn at it's seams by war.)
-Eternal Voice (A sword modeled after a millennium-old tree, creating a mournful sound that mimics a ballad of bards past.)
Sparrow Songs (Collection Complete)
-Emil's Shop (A story of a former rich man's son turned freelance hero and salesman across the star whose efforts changed the Brume at the height of the Dragonsong War.)
-Gestalt's Promise (A father who once was a skilled warrior who slayed both the Flood of Light and the Shades with only a few companions beside him.)
-Nori's Fate (A wayward son of a mighty warrior who spent his time taking care of his bedridden sister, now taking the chance to live in his father's footsteps.)
-Kalani's Reputation (A woman of very colorful language with an even worse temper, she's as strong willed as anyone else in her party and is not afraid of a fight, even if it's from a sentient tome.)
-Song of the Ancients (An eon long ballad sung traditionally by two twin girls, it tells the story of the beginning and eventual end of the realm as we knew it, though only Popola knows it as well as anything else.)
-Tales of the Grimoires (A story of a trio of teens turned into a set of sentient magical grimoires, two who have called Seafront Village Library home since they ended their travels with their adventurers.)
SPECIALTY BOOKS FROM BEYOND.To give herself a small break from the evergoings of the Sword Songs collection, Popola has begun another hobby: rewriting folklore from her home Star for those as well! Seeing how the travelling Disciples of the Land rely on tales of old to forage and fish up new sorts of creatures using folklore from various parts of the realm, Popola sat down and spoke with some of her close friends and recollected folklore from their pasts, now offering them for any adventurers who come on by. Though, there are a few tales not exclusive to Gathering folklore open to rent as well...Gestaltic Tomes of Folklore
A worn Peisteskin journal dyed a dark blue, littered with gold embellishments front and back with an impression of an open lily embossed on the cover. This tome covers mostly the flora and fauna of various regions around Seafront and its vast, lush plains. From how to cultivate various flowers native to the Southern Plains in your own yard such as the elusive Lunar Tear, how to master catching the elusive Rhizodont, finding only the best scrap metal pieces, and how to ride a boar for some...reason. (Seriously, who put that in there? Was it Nori? Probably.)
Pascal Tomes of Folklore
A beat-up Toadskin journal dyed a deep forest green, silver book corners pressed into it with an emblem of an eye cradled in an anemone flower on the cover. The tomes covers a much smaller range of subjects than the Gestaltic variant and focuses more so on the Flora and Ichthyology of an unspecified set of City Ruins and Forest villages lost to the faewild. From how to cultivate the elusive Desert Rose that was a gift for sapphic androids, how to properly survey Desert ruins for precious ores, and the not-so-elusive Mackerel. Now featuring the best blacksmithing techniques this side of the Star! (New body not included if you chose to eat the Mackerel however...)
Symphonic Sisters of Eld
A stark white tome littered with opalescent framing, the rainbow light just subtle enough under the lamplight, with what almost can be described as a woman within a lily embossed on the cover. However, the contents seem like a hybrid of old hymns and tales of one sister's journey across the realm to find and defeat her other sisters with a wyvern companion and several disciples on her heels. It reads much like an epic with scattered imagery of each battle, though not all of it is fully translated; one could wonder if it's done on purpose or not. However, what can be deciphered makes it feel as if it's constantly being revised, an ongoing tale.
Crimson Draken
A deep red dragonskin tome with rips in its cover, just barely covered by bronze edge covers, the image of a falling dragon embossed heavily onto the cover. A harrowing tale of a falling empire on the back of a former noble son and his Wyvern companion, a pact forged in bloodshed and dismay. Certainly not one to tell as a bedtime story, the amount of...creative liberties and carnage make it a bit of a gory read. Though it reads more like a history textbook with eerie parallels to the tragedies of the Dragonsong War that you can't even sleep off, it's a tale seemingly even tied to the history of Fool's Accord and the painting that Popola seemingly can never finish within the library.
